- Abstract
- The volume collects the acts of the international meeting on “Sustainable Development of Mountain Communities” to which many Italian and foreign geographers took part. The major themes analysed are “Global Change” and sustainable development of mountain communities, policies for the development of mountain areas, environmental protection, tourism and sustainable development in general terms and with study cases. The presence of virtuous forms of development and the need to extend these opportunities even to other regions, through the valorisation of endogenous resources and the promotion of new forms of integration with the “outside world”, are well underlined in the volume.
