Abstract: Proceedings of the international meeting “The Alps and Europe”, happened in 1973 in Milan, which started a new stage of trans-frontier collaboration between the alpine regions of different countries. Many politicians, administrators and experts in disciplines, such as geography, history, sociology, economy and law, took part to the meeting, giving their precious contributions, which have often been the starting point for further analysis.
