Abstract

The volume collects the essays of some Italian geographers, both physical and human, who participated at the International Geographic Congress in Paris (1984). The authors analyse both the environmental conditions (like the catastrophic phenomena caused by exogenous elements) and the recent evolution of the human processes in the alpine region at the beginning of the Eighties. It can still be considered an interesting text, especially when analysing long period tendencies.
