Abstract
A huge and excellent collection of good hints for preparing and realising participative planning and implementing processes. Inter alia, the process of choosing a specific participative method should take into account a) the way of preparing and taking a decision, b) the number of participants as well as c) the geographical or spatial dimension of the project. Moreover, the authors provide checklists for developing objectives and visions and guidelines for identifying and choosing stakeholders. Furthermore, the authors discuss aspects of process management, mobilising stakeholders, communicating with the political authorities and dealing with conflicts. Lastly, they provide suggestions for organising public information meetings and seeking support from professional facilitators.
