Short description
The Zillergund is a valley close by the natural park Zillertaler Alpen. The Zillergrund route, 20 kilomters long, was closed for private car traffic: a congestion charge was levied, there's a limit of 100 cars a day and a lorries are banned from the Zillergund in summer. To demostrate that a ban on driving does not have any effects on consumation in gastronomy, the Umweltbonus (=environmental bonus) was invented. All passengers, that use the bus in the Zillergund, get a coupon amounting to 1,50 Euro that can be used in every inn or tavern in the Zillergrund.
