Short description
* Project updated on 25 April 2007 according to information from the project contact persons * mehrwertHOLZ implements projects, which increase the demand for wood as building and construction material and as a renewable energy resource in the canton Lucerne. To support these process five expert-networks were established dealing with education, consumer, institutional investors, innovations and marketing. Their function is to develop the new projects and recommending these to the executive committee of mehrwertHOLZ for implementation. It is then the job of external persons and enterprises to implement the projects.
Project executive
mehrwertHOLZ has the legal form of an association with seat in Entlebuch. Members of mehrwertHOLZ are cantonal and national agencies, wood-federations, representatives from the wood sector and consumers.

Objectives
Increasing the demand for wood as building and construction material and as an energy resource by
- sensitization of future house-owners (private ones and institutional ones)
- co-operation with educational institutions (training planner, engineers, etc..)
- sensitization of future consumers
- innovation promotion

- Key account management for potential large-scale projects in the canton Lucerne.
- Customer service for potential wood projects.
- Knowledge transfer for planners and architects.
- Network management within the industry and with potential co-operation partners.
- Association management for groups of shareholders merged in the project.

Evaluation
An external evaluation porcedure has been set up with the Buisness High School Lucerne and with external autitors. The evaluation have non been carried out op to know.
Difficulties
Main difficulties werde the
- Strongly diverging interests of the participants.
- Problem to generation of a mutual system understanding as a basis for developing common projects and a common marketing.
To solve this problems methods like stakeholder platforms, focus workshops and mental moderation were successfully used.
