Short description
* Project updated on 25 April 2007 according to information from the project contact persons * The Alpenrhein-Bahn is an S-Bahn system in the Upper Rhine Valley, a region in southeast Switzerland. The aim of the project is to avoid that the Upper Rhine Valley gets a transit route for road transport. Furthermore, freight transport on road shall be reduced by transferring it to rail. Instead of further road construction between Liechtenstein and the Lake of Constance, investments shall be made in projected development of the rail infrastructure.
